The Apple Watch Series 7 goes on pre-order this Friday, will be available next Friday
The new Apple Watch Series 7 arrives a couple of weeks after the iPhone 13 series went on sale. Pre-orders start this Friday, October 8, availability is set for October 15 (Friday next week). Hereâs the list: Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Japan, Mexico, Russia, South Korea, the UAE, the UK, the US plus more than 50 other countries.
You can pre-order one online or at an Apple store starting this Friday at 12:00 PM UTC. You can trade in an old watch to lower the price (it starts at $400 in the US), though only Apple watches seem to be accepted.
Note that the Solo Loop and Braided Solo Loop bands are exclusive to Apple stores (online and offline).
If you buy a watch with cellular connectivity directly from Apple, you can still get $100 back when you activate it on T-Mobile/Sprint or Verizon. Also, you donât have to get the Series 7, the Apple Watch SE and the Series 3 are still around as cheaper options ($280 and $200, respectively).
However, the Series 7 brings a number of major improvements even over last year's Series 6. The bezels are thinner so the screen is 20% bigger. Also, the Always On Display mode is now 70% brighter. The watch is more durable with a glass that is better at resisting cracks and a body that is now dust-tight (IP6X). Battery life is the same old 18 hours, but charging is 33% faster (0-80% in 45 minutes). The larger display enabled Apple to redesign the UI a bit too, like the Modular Duo watch face (with two center complications) and even a QWERTY keyboard.
