Samsung T929 Memoir gets official, no more guessing
That's it folks, after several leaks about the 8 megapixel cameraphone, without further ado the Samsung Memoir is finally out in its full glory. It comes with GPS, a 3-inch touchscreen display and a xenon flash so it doesn't get any more hight tech than that.
After we published the full specs of the T-Mobile-exclusive Samsung T929 Memoir yesterday, today it finally got official.
The Samsung Memoir is the first 8 megapixel mobile phone to be sold through a USA carrier. Beside the 8 megapixel snapper, you also get a xenon flash, which is a rarity in Samsung cameraphones. There's also WVGA (720x480 pixels) video recording at 30 fps.
The 3-inch touchscreen WQVGA display of the Samsung Memoir runs the proprietary Samsung TouchWiz interface. The device also has a built-in GPS receiver but we're not reaslly sure if it will offer any other location-based services beside geotagging and Google Maps.
There's also 1700MHz 3G support so those of you that reside in T-Mobile 3G areas will also make use of the high-speed data transfers.
Some of the Memoir other features include quad-band GSM support, Bluetooth and USB.
Samsung T929 Memoir will be available starting this month through T-Mobile USA at about 299 US dollars (230 euro) on a 2-year contract.
