Samsung Galaxy Z Flip FE tipped to run on an older Exynos SoC
Samsung is preparing to release budget-friendly versions of its Galaxy Z Flip and Z Fold foldables, an increasing number of reports claim. They are said to be under the "Fan Edition" series, but details are rather scarce at this point. But the latest info from a tipster gives us something to work with.
According to rumors, the Galaxy Z Flip FE will run on this year's Exynos 2400 chip. But when the device actually launches, the SoC will be at least a year-old. This signals a slightly different strategy compared to the standard S FE lineup, which tends to get the latest chipset, albeit a toned-down version like the Galaxy S24 FE with the Exynos 2400e.
Keep in mind that this doesn't automatically mean that the Z Fold FE will employ the same SoC. Samsung might decide on something else.
While it may sound a bit disappointing for some, we believe it's a sensible way to reduce cost. The Exynos 2400 will be perfectly fine in 2025, and more people will be able to afford a foldable.
