Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra case shown off on video with rounded corners

The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra abandoned the rounded corners of its predecessor in favor of 90° angles – and all the phones that followed had the same tendency to dig into your palm. This is likely coming to an end as all indications suggest that Samsung is going back to a more rounded design with the S25 Ultra.

We saw renders of the alleged design earlier this month, but this saga has been going on for longer. Even back in August, Ice Universe has been showing off mock-ups and claiming that Samsung will round off the sharp corners. And now the cat has proof.

Found on Weibo, this video shows off a jelly case for the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. The corners are indeed round – noticeably more than the S22 through S24 Ultra, though not as round as they were on the S21 Ultra.

The new Ultra is supposed to have super thin bezels, thinner than even those on the iPhone 16 Pro Max. The phone will measure 8.2mm thick, down from 8.6mm on the 2024 model, and will be lighter to boot – 219g for the S25 Ultra, down from 232g on the S24 Ultra. It should be a bit narrower too (77.6mm vs. 79.0mm), all while keeping the same battery capacity (5,000mAh). All of that points to major improvements in ergonomics.

The whole Samsung Galaxy S25 family is supposed to use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 instead of a Snapdragon/Exynos mix (we’ve even seen the Ultra run Geekbench). The Ultra was certified with satellite connectivity, but it’s not clear whether that will be an exclusive feature or whether the other two S25 phones will have that too (all Pixel 9 and all iPhone 16 models have satellite connectivity).
