Samsung Galaxy S24 series to include three models, codenames revealed
A media report in January claimed Samsung's Galaxy S24 series, expected to arrive in Q1 2024, would include two instead of three models - Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Ultra. The Galaxy S24+ was said to be dropped by the Korean conglomerate. However, new revelation suggests that won't be the case, and the S24 series, like the S23 lineup, will include vanilla, Plus, and Ultra models.
The word comes from SamMobile and GalaxyClub, who claim the Galaxy S24 series is codenamed "Muse" by Samsung, and there are three different codenames for the smartphones - Muse 1, Muse 2, and Muse 3 - suggesting the S24 lineup will include a Plus version.
The Galaxy S24 Ultra is codenamed Muse 3, so the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ could be codenamed Muse 1 and Muse 2, respectively. The sources also reiterated that the Galaxy S24 Ultra will feature a telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom, replacing the 3x telephoto unit seen on the Galaxy S23 Ultra.
In April, we heard Samsung would drop the 3x telephoto from the S24 Ultra in favor of a single variable folded telephoto with 3-10x zoom. We'll have to wait for more evidence to be sure of that. And with the unveiling of the S24 series over six months away, you can expect to hear more about the lineup in the coming months.
