Samsung Galaxy S23+ US model spotted on Geekbench with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2
The Samsung Galaxy S23 and S23 Ultra's US variants popped up on Geekbench last month with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC that's expected to go official at the Snapdragon Summit between November 15-17. Now, the US version of the Plus model has also been spotted on the benchmark database with Qualcomm's upcoming flagship silicon.
The US variant of the Galaxy S23+ has model code SM-S916U and runs Android 13, presumably with One UI 5.0 on top. The smartphone has 8GB of RAM onboard, but there will likely be more RAM options to choose from.
Despite having the same chipset and RAM amount, the S23+ scored lower than the vanilla and Ultra models in Geekbench's single-core tests but achieved a higher multi-core score. These are likely pre-production units, so we'll reserve our judgment until we get our hands on the retail units, which will probably have better performance.
That said, it's still unclear if the Galaxy S23 series will use the Snapdragon chip in all markets or if Samsung will go with the Exynos chip in some countries.
