Samsung Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra official video teasers leak
We've seen a lot of leaks regarding the upcoming Galaxy S21 family by Samsung recently, and today it's time to check out the first one showing officially made stuff. Three short video teasers have been outed, purportedly coming straight from Samsung's marketing department.
These confirm the designs of the Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra, as well as the fact that the S21 and S21+ will make do with three rear cameras (no periscope zoom) and flat screens, while the S21 Ultra gets a curved display and four snappers, including a periscope. Another difference is that the S21 and S21+ will have plastic backs, while the Ultra has glass.
The unique design of the camera islands is very much on display here front and center. We're intrigued by Samsung's decision to move this into the frame the way it did, we'll have to wait and see how the public reacts. As for the cameras themselves, expect the S21 and S21+ to have a 12 MP wide, a 12 MP ultrawide, and a 64 MP telephoto, while the S21 Ultra will have a 108 MP wide, a 12 MP ultrawide, a 10 MP 3x tele, and a 10 MP 10x periscope zoom. The Ultra has laser autofocus too.
The S21 and S21+ are shown here in the Phantom Violet colorway, which, as you can see, is a dual-tone paint job, with the frame and camera island being gold/bronze. It's not something we've seen before, that's for sure. Meanwhile, as the S21 Ultra was rumored to only launch in gray and black like its predecessor, we get to gawk at the yawn-worthy black version.
The Galaxy S21 phones are expected to become official at a yet-unannounced January 14 Galaxy Unpacked special online event, and become available in stores on January 29. In the meantime, Samsung has scheduled a CES event for January 11, but it looks like that's unrelated, and most likely will be used to unveil its latest and greatest TVs.
