Samsung Galaxy M55s is official and confusing

As promised, today Samsung has made the Galaxy M55s official in India. The phone will go on sale at Amazon on September 26 in Thunder Black and Coral Green. It will be priced at INR 19,999 with 128GB of storage and INR 22,999 with 256GB. There is however going to be an INR 2,000 instant discount on all leading banks' credit and debit cards, EMI and full payment, so the effective price will be INR 17,999 / 20,999.

The Galaxy M55s is very easy to tell apart from the M55 if you look at its back, coming with three different textures - something no other Samsung can currently boast.

That said, on the inside, it's looking eerily identical to the M55 which launched back in March. The Galaxy M55s comes with a 6.7-inch 1,080x2,400 Super AMOLED Plus display with 120 Hz refresh rate and 1,000-nit peak brightness, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset at the helm, 8GB of RAM, microSD expansion, a 50 MP main camera, an 8 MP ultrawide, a 2 MP macro camera, and a 50 MP selfie camera.

It measures 163.9 x 76.5 x 7.8 mm and weighs 180g. It has a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 45W fast wired charging, an in-display fingerprint sensor, and it runs Android 14 with One UI 6.1 on top. And yes, all of those specs 100% match the M55's, so we assume that showcasing the rear's design is the only reason for the M55s to exist, confusing as that may be.
