Samsung Galaxy M16 runs Geekbench revealing key similarity to an existing model
Samsung launched the Galaxy A16 5G last month, and now it"s getting ready to unveil a very, very close sibling: the Galaxy M16. This has been spotted in the Geekbench database powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 SoC, just like the A16 is.
The M16 prototype that was tested had 8GB of RAM and ran Android 14. The A16 also launched with Android 14 on board, and with a promise of receiving 6 major Android updates. Its top version has 8GB of RAM but there are also iterations with 4GB and 6GB, so the M16 might get those too.
Samsung Galaxy A16 5GThe M16 managed a single-core score of 552 and a multi-core score of 1,611 in Geekbench 5.5.1 for Android. It"s unclear exactly when it will be announced, but it can"t be long now.
Based on the situation last year when the A15 and M15 were identical save for the latter"s bigger battery, we wouldn"t be surprised if the M16 was identical to the A16, perhaps with a 6,000 mAh cell of its own.
If this pans out, then expect the M16 to have a 6.7-inch 90 Hz Super AMOLED screen with 800-nit peak brightness, 128/256GB of storage, a 50 MP main camera flanked by a 5 MP ultrawide and 2 MP macro camera, and a 13 MP selfie snapper.
