Samsung Care+ will include unlimited battery repairs from May
Samsung"s Care+ protection plans in the US will come with unlimited battery repairs starting in May. This will be bundled into the benefits of both Care+ and Care+ with Theft and Loss tiers.
There are, however, two caveats to keep in mind. First, this will make both plans $2 more expensive per month. Second, and perhaps most importantly, you"ll only be eligible for a battery repair if your device"s battery health is at 79% or lower, "as indicated by a diagnostic test". Oh, and there also has to be "no additional damage to the covered device" present. This repair option will be available through both walk-in or mail-in repair, Samsung says in a notification it sent current subscribers to the plans.
The monthly price for Samsung Care+ and Samsung Care+ with Theft and Loss varies by device, currently going from around $8 per month to around $18 per month with a three-year contract. From May, this will thus jump to a range of about $10 per month to about $20 per month.
Care+ has coverage for unlimited repairs, drops and spills, mechanical breakdown after first year, as well as $29 screen repairs. It offers next business day replacements, 24/7 expert support, convenient mail-in repair and replacement, and of course you can rest assured that genuine Samsung parts are used by Samsung-certified technicians.
As its name implies, for an extra fee, Care+ with Theft and Loss also has coverage for - you guessed it - theft and loss of your device. This only works for phones, tablets, and watches, while the "vanilla" Care+ is also compatible with Samsung PCs and true wireless earbuds.
