Realme unveils Buds Air Pro and Buds Wireless Pro ANC earphones
Realme announced over half a dozen products at its "Leap To Next Gen" AIoT event today, which also include a couple of wireless earphones with Active Noise Cancellation, dubbed Buds Air Pro and Buds Wireless Pro.
Realme Buds Air Pro
Realme has launched three TWS earphones until now - Buds Air, Buds Air Neo, and Buds Q - but the Buds Air Pro are the first TWS earphones from the company that come with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC).
Realme says the Buds Air Pro provide noise cancellation up to 35dB, achieved using the FeedBack Microphone and FeedForward Microphone, which collect the ambient noise outside and inside the ears, respectively, and generate cancelling sound waves.
However, blocking out the outside world entirely is not advisable when you are walking or driving, so the Buds Air Pro come with a Transparency Mode that allows you to listen to the ambient sound, which keeps you aware of your surroundings. And for clearer conversations during calls, you get Environmental Noise Cancellation (ENC), which reduces the surrounding noise.
Active Noise Cancellation • Environmental Noise Cancellation
The Realme Buds Air Pro are powered by the custom 28mm S1 chip and come with an improved Game Mode having a low latency of 94ms. Each bud packs a 10mm Bass Boost Driver and weighs just 5 grams.
The size of the battery these buds pack is unknown, but the charging case that weighs 39.5 grams comes with a 486 mAh battery, which Realme says can offer a total of 25 hours of playback with ANC turned off, and five hours less with ANC turned on. Once the case runs out of juice, a quick top-up of 10 minutes can get you three hours of playback. A full charge takes an hour.
Like most other TWS earphones, the Buds Air Pro support touch controls and voice commands. And for the first time in the Buds Air series, they come with silicone tips for passive noise cancellation.
The rest of the features of the Realme Buds Air Pro include Smart Wear Detection, Bluetooth 5.0, Google Fast Pair, IPX4 water resistance (buds only), more effective Game Mode, and Bass Boost+ Mode (for extra bass). However, there"s no wireless charging like the Buds Air as some corners had to be cut.
The Buds Air Pro come in Rock Black and Soul White colors. They are priced at INR4,999 ($70/€60) and will go on sale in India from October 16 through the company"s official site and Flipkart. But as a part of the Diwali sale, they will get a discount of INR500 ($7/€6).
Realme Buds Wireless Pro
The Buds Wireless Pro come with nice upgrades over the Buds Wireless announced last year. For starters, the Buds Wireless Pro feature Active Noise Cancellation like the Buds Air Pro, but they support LDAC codec as well that allows audio streaming over Bluetooth at up to 990Kbps.
Another new feature is seamless switching, which allows you to quickly switch between two connected devices by double-clicking the multi-function button.

The bass boost drivers are bigger now at 13.6mm, and the earphones offer a latency of 119ms with the Gaming Mode.

The Buds Wireless Pro don"t come with the ear hooks that the Buds Wireless came with, but you now get a 160 mAh battery that can offer up to 16 hours of music playback with the ANC on, and 22 hours without it.
The microUSB port on the Buds Wireless is also replaced with USB-C on the Pro model. A full charge takes 1.5 hours, and a quick 5-minute charge offers 1.7 hours of playback.
The Buds Wireless Pro are lightweight at 33 grams and are IPX4 water-resistant. Like the Buds Air Pro, the Buds Wireless Pro also feature Environmental Noise Cancellation and Bass Boost+ Mode. The latter can be enabled through the Realme Link app.

The Buds Wireless Pro support Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity and have two color options - Party Yellow and Disco Green. They are priced at INR3,999 ($55/€45) and will be available for purchase in India through Realme"s online store and Amazon.in from October 16. But you can get them for INR2,999 ($40/€35) during the first Diwali sale.
