Quad-cam Samsung Galaxy A9s and ODM Galaxy A6s debut
It's official Samsungs first ODM phone was unveiled in China today. ODM means that it is made in factories belonging to another company (Wintech in this case). Meet the Galaxy A6s. The Galaxy A9s joined it, which despite the similar sounding name is just the local version of the Galaxy A9 (2018).
Samsung Galaxy A6s
The Samsung Galaxy A6s has a 6 1080p+ screen (Super AMOLED, of course) and it is powered by a Snapdragon 660. This is actually an upgrade over the Snapdragon 450 found in the Galaxy A6+ (2018). The 6GB of RAM and 64/128GB storage are a nice step up also.
The dual camera on the back 12MP main module + 2MP depth sensor is slightly less impressive, however. Same for the 12MP selfie camera. For comparison, the A6+ has a 16+5MP cam on the back and 24MP on the front.
Anyway, the Galaxy A6s comes with a 3,300mAh battery, USB-C and 3.5mm headphone jack.
It starts at CNY 1,800 ($260/230). The Galaxy A6+ is 370, so thats quite a deal.
Samsung Galaxy A9s
The Samsung Galaxy A9s has a 6.3 Super AMOLED screen with 1080p+ resolution (18:9 aspect ratio). Its powered by a Snapdragon 660 chipset with 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage.
It has a quad camera on its back. It starts with a 24MP (f/1.7) main module, then onto an 8MP 120ð ultra-wide angle cam (f/2.4), then 10MP 2x telephoto cam (f/2.4) and, finally, an 8MP depth sensor. The selfie camera has a 24MP sensor.
The Galaxy A9s has a 3,800mAh battery with fast charging over USB-C. Its available for pre-order today at CNY 3,500 ($505/440). The Galaxy A9 (2018) costs 600.
