Poco M6 gets official in India with Dimensity 6100+, 8GB of RAM
The Oppo A59 from earlier isn"t the only smartphone that got its official global debut in India today. It"s joined by the Poco M6, a device powered by MediaTek"s Dimensity 6100+ SoC, which is paired with 4/6/8GB of RAM - and supports an additional 8GB through RAM expansion.
The Poco M6 has a 6.74-inch 720x1,600 LCD screen with 90 Hz refresh rate and up to 600-nit peak brightness, Gorilla Glass protection on top (though which version isn"t mentioned), 128GB or 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage, microSD expansion support, dual-SIM functionality, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 18W charging.
It has a 50 MP main rear camera, it"s dust and splash resistant, and it runs Android 13 with MIUI 14 on top. The first sale is taking place on December 26, and the Poco M6 will be offered in Galactic Black and Orion Blue.
If all of those specs seem familiar, it"s because the Poco M6, just as previously rumored, seems to be a straight-up rebrand of the Redmi 13C 5G, which was released last week. Of course the design of the back is a little bit different with the different brand touches applied by Poco, but otherwise... these do seem identical.
The normal prices for the Poco M6 are INR 10,499 for the base model with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, INR 11,499 for the 6/128GB version, and INR 13,499 if you want the top spec 8/256GB iteration. However, with a bank offer you can grab the M6 for just INR 9,499, and this, according to Poco, makes it the most affordable 5G-capable smartphone ever to be available in India.
