Over 100 million people will get Galaxy AI after the current rollout is complete

Samsung just started the next step of its Galaxy AI suite rollout through the One UI 6.1 update coming to the Galaxy S23 family (including the S23 FE), Galaxy Z Fold5, Galaxy Z Flip5, and Galaxy Tab S9 series starting on March 28, aka today.

Those devices will get the Galaxy AI features that launched alongside the Galaxy S24 family back in January. Once the rollout that starts today is complete, over 100 million people will have gotten access to Galaxy AI, according to Samsung VP Nick Porter, whom we had a chance to chat with.

Naturally, we asked about whether the Galaxy AI features would make it to older devices than these - in light of recent reports saying Samsung is considering a release for the Galaxy S22 series.

Unfortunately we didn't get a firm yes or no - Samsung is in the process of evaluating the rest of its portfolio and will be deciding whether to bring the whole AI package or parts of it to more products on a device by device basis, with no specific announcements to be made at this point. So, all hope is not lost, but we'll have to wait a bit longer for more clarity.

Finally, we got a promise that support for more languages will be incorporated into Chat assist and Live translate later this year.
