Oppo Watch 2 unveiled with Wear 4100 chipset, 42mm and 46mm sizes available with eSIM
The Oppo Watch 2 arrives with a Wear 4100 chipset alongside a custom Apollo 4s co-processor by Ambiq. The Ultra Dynamic Dual Engine promises to extend battery life â the 46mm model should last up to 4 days on a charge, growing to 16 days in Power Saver mode. With VOOC 2.0 fast charging just 10 minutes are enough for a full day of use.
This watch has an optional eSIM, which will be available in both 42mm and 46mm sizes. There will be a Bluetooth-only version as well, though only in 42 mm.
The Oppo Watch 2 has a curved AMOLED display with 326 ppi pixel density and 60Hz refresh rate. The 42 mm model packs a 1.75â display. Like the original, there are two buttons on the side.
The watch supports 24-hour heart rate tracking and SpO2 (blood oxygen) monitoring, plus sleep analysis (with snoring risk assessment), stress monitoring and so on. It features over 100 sports modes. The watch is rated for 5 ATM water resistance and has a GPS receiver.
The Oppo Watch 2 goes on pre-order today and will start shipping in China on August 6. The 42mm Bluetooth-only version costs CNY 1,300 ($200/â¬170), the eSIM version is CNY 1,500 while the 46mm eSIM model is CNY 2,000 ($310/â¬260). Note that those who pre-order will get a discount that drops the base model to CNY 1,000 and knocks CNY 200 off the prices of the two eSIM models.
Note that the Chinese version runs ColorOS for Watch based on Android 8.1, the same as the original Watch. That one switched to Google Wear for the international version, though we haven't heard anything about an international release of the Watch 2 yet.
