Oppo Reno8 and Reno8 Pro arrive in Europe, Oppo Pad Air and accessories tag along

2022-08-31

Oppo is launching several devices in Europe today – two Reno phones, its first tablet in Western Europe and a few accessories. These aren’t new products, just new to the region.

Let’s start with the Oppo Reno8 and Reno8 Pro. These were first unveiled in July in India after a similar but not identical Reno8 series launched in China. These are the same as the ones in India.

The Reno8 and Reno8 Pro are powered by Dimensity 1300 and Dimensity 8100-Max chips, respectively. Both have high refresh rate AMOLED displays (6.4” 90Hz for the vanilla and 6.7” 120Hz for the Pro). Also, both pack premium Sony sensors – 50MP 1/1.56” IMX766 for the main cam and 32MP 1/2.74” RGBW for the selfie camera (the Pro also boasts a MariSilicon X image processor). Even better, these are the first Reno phones to support 80W fast charging (no wireless charging, though).

The Oppo Reno8 comes with 8/256GB memory and has a €600 price tag. The Oppo Reno8 Pro has the same 8/256GB configuration, but with a faster chipset and other hardware advantages it costs €800. Brits are looking at £420 and £600, respectively.

The Reno8 series will start appearing in stores in Europe later today. Early buyers will get a free pair of Enco X2 buds and an extended 3-year warranty.

The Oppo Pad Air is a 10.4” tablet with a Snapdragon 680 chipset, which was first unveiled in May. You can pick up a 4/64GB model for €300 or a 4/128GB one for €350.

Now for a few accessories, starting with the SuperVOOC car charger that can give your Reno8 the full 80W of power. And there is a USB-A port if you need to charge something else at the same time. You can pick one of these up for €50.

The Enco X2 buds that you can get for free with a Reno8 now are normally €200, so that is a pretty good deal.
