Oppo Reno6 Z full specs leak ahead of launch
Oppo has gotten us used to refreshing its Reno line of upper-midrange smartphones twice a year, but this is fast even by those standards. The Reno5 Z only launched back in April, and yet Oppo's upcoming Reno6 Z is already well underway, with a full specs leak today. We don't know exactly when the Reno6 Z is supposed to become official, but we have to wonder whether Oppo's switching from two Reno lines per year to three.
Anyway, back to the Reno6 Z. The phone is said to come with a 6.43-inch FHD+ 60 Hz AMOLED touchscreen covered with Gorilla Glas 5, the MediaTek Dimensity 800U chipset, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, and a 4,310 mAh battery with support for 30W fast charging.
On the rear there's a triple camera system, with a 64 MP main sensor, an 8 MP ultrawide, and a 2 MP macro cam, while on the front the phone has a 32 MP selfie snapper. The Reno6 Z will allegedly be offered in two colorways, though they're not specified, and will boot Android 11 underneath ColorOS 11.1.
Compared to its predecessor, the Reno6 Z has twice the storage, a higher-res main rear camera and a higher-res selfie camera, and... that's it. The rest is identical. You can judge whether these updates alone merit another model. Oppo definitely seems to think so.
