Oppo K9 5G announced with Snapdragon 768G SoC, 90Hz screen, and 65W charging
Oppo had a big event today in China where it announced a smart TV, a pair of TWS earphones, and a fitness band. Additionally, Oppo also introduced a new 5G smartphone, dubbed Oppo K9 5G, which is powered by the Snapdragon 768G SoC, runs Android 11-based ColorOS 11.1, and has two memory options - 8GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB.
The Oppo K9 5G comes with 3D liquid-cooling system for sustained performance and packs a 6.43" FullHD+ 90Hz Samsung-made AMOLED screen with a 180Hz touch sampling rate. The display also has a sixth-gen fingerprint reader underneath sourced from Goodix.
For photography, the Oppo K9 5G comes with a total of four cameras - a 32MP selfie shooter inside the punch hole, with a 64MP primary camera on the rear joined by 8MP ultrawide and 2MP macro units.
Keeping the entire package up and running is a 4,300 mAh battery that draws power through a USB-C port at up to 65W.
The Oppo K9 5G comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack, 360° surround antenna, dual-mode 5G (SA/NSA) support, and two color options - black and gradient.
The base variant of the K9 5G with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage is priced at CNY1,999 ($310/€255), and for CNY200 ($30/€25) more, you get double storage.
The smartphone"s up for pre-orders in China, and those who pre-book one will get a discount of CNY100 ($15/€13). Open sales of the K9 5G will begin on May 11, but there"s no word on availability outside China.
