Oppo F3 Plus goes official: a selfie expert with dual front cameras
No more teasers, we have a new Selfie expert on the block. The Oppo F3 Plus doubles the front cameras to get those sweet 120ð shots - perfect for capturing all of your friends.
The wide-angle selfies you take with an 8MP camera. For high-resolution solo shots, you get a 16MP main camera (with a regular field of view). The main camera on the back borrows the hardware from the R9s - a 1/2.8 Sony IMX398 sensor behind a bright f/1.7 aperture. Theres Dual Pixel autofocus plus a dual-tone LED flash on board as well.
The similarities continue - the Oppo F3 Plus has a six string antenna, meaning it has aesthetically pleasing antenna lines with solid reception.
The new phone is bigger than the R9s, though, it has a sizable 6 screen on the front with sub-2mm bezels on the side. Its a 1080p screen guarded by Gorilla Glass 5. The battery is larger too - 4,000mAh capacity promises great battery life while VOOC charge will fill it back up lickety-split.
The larger battery allowed Oppo to go for a more powerful chipset - a Snapdragon 653 - which features four Cortex-A72 cores (+ four A53), similar to the top dogs (though built on a less efficient 28nm process). The chipset is hooked up to 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage (expandable). Android 6.0 Marshmallow has been painted with Color OS 3.0, Oppos latest custom software.
The phone is definitely coming out in India, when and for how much is yet to be revealed. The official announcement is coming in tomorrow - what we have here is a case of a page going up prematurely. Hopefully the event will fill us in on those details. We should also see the F3 Plus' smaller brother then - the Oppo F3.
Update: The page has since been removed, which further confirms that it's a case of someone jumping the gun rather than a planned action. It should be back tomorrow when the phone goes official.
