One UI 5.0/Android 13 arrives on Samsung Galaxy A71 5G, Galaxy S10 Lite and Tab S7 FE
Samsung is rolling out the One UI 5.0/Android 13 update to the Galaxy A71 5G. The phone came out in early 2020 with Android 10, got One UI 3.0/Android 11 in early 2021, then One UI 4.1/Android 12 this March (it skipped One UI 4.0). Now on to another major version of Samsung’s software and the latest Android features.
The Galaxy A71 5G is receiving firmware with version A716BXXU6EVL2 and it seems that the UAE is the first country to get it, but that’s just the preliminary rollout, the update should expand to Europe and Asia in the coming days.
The update includes new versions of Samsung’s key apps, including the Camera, Gallery and Keyboard (which now have the option to scan text from an image and covert it to something you can copy). There are also fun additions like new AR Emojis, emoji pairs and kaomojis.
Some changes to the menus include the addition of Connected Devices and merging the Security and Privacy pages. Speaking of, the update also includes the December 2022 security patch.
By the way, the 4G version of the Galaxy A71 went up to Android 13 in November. The related Galaxy A51 5G hopped on board the Android 13 train yesterday.
Similar to the A71, the Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite is from early 2020 and launched with Android 10/One UI 2.0. It is now being updated to One UI 5.0/Android 13 – look for firmware version G770FXXU6HVK5. It includes the older November 2022 security patch. The rollout has begun with unlocked and Vodafone-branded phones in the Netherlands.
Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite units in the Netherlands are being updated to One UI 5.0/Android 13
Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 FE owners can look forward to trying the new OS too – currently units in the UK are being updated with firmware T736BXXU1CVL1, this one also packs the older November 2022 patch.
