Nothing's upcoming speaker doesn't look like any other speaker
While we wait for its next smartphone, which will be a high-end offering boasting a chipset from Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 series, Nothing is busy working on another product, which it's started teasing a couple of days ago.
The new teaser tweet that the company has released today seems to be about bugs, weirdly enough. And the first one from two days ago is... also weird, in its own way.
While the company itself is, at the moment, staying mum on what exactly it's "cooking up", a leak comes to the rescue.
The leak shows us the image you can see below, which purports to be of the upcoming Nothing speaker. Once you've been told it's a speaker, it makes sense. But before that... It's a very bold and unique design, one of those that may get forgotten very soon or go full-on iconic and be taught in design schools in a decade or two.
The jury's still out on how this one will go, of course. It looks like Nothing will make this speaker official at some point soon, and then we'll have more details for you, including the answer to the most important question - why? No, wait, we meant: is it a smart speaker? Oh, and also: how big is it really? Since the image above doesn't have any indication of scale in it, it's impossible to tell.
What can be gleaned from it is that there's a handle up top, a couple of woofers 'downstairs', and what looks like two or three tweeters at the middle level. The second one from the left seems to have Nothing branding on it, which is why we're not sure whether it's a tweeter or maybe a digital LED sphere. Again, the announcement probably isn't far off, so hang tight and we'll let you know when we find out more.
