Nokia Superman selfie phone has specs leaked, Tesla rumored

Microsoft's mobile division is apparently working on not one, but two new smartphones that should be released soon.

The first one of those is codenamed Superman. It's bound to be focused on selfies, and its specs have thankfully been leaked. That said, as always in these cases - do take the following with a pinch of salt at least.

The Superman reportedly has a 5 MP front camera, quite a departure for Nokia - and something that might make it a direct competitor to the Sony Xperia C3.

Moving on, the Superman should come with a 4.7-inch 720p touchscreen, and, oddly, a 6.5 MP rear camera. That's not a resolution we've seen a lot of (if ever), so it's unclear what's up with it.

The handset will be powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, possibly one that's part of one of Qualcomm's Snapdragon 400 SoCs. We'll also see 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage in there, along with LTE support. The whole thing will be kept running by a 2200 mAh battery.

The other device is codenamed Tesla, and it may in fact turn out to be the recently leaked Lumia 830 (which, interestingly, is to feature "Nokia by Microsoft" branding on the back).

According to what Stephen Elop purportedly said in an internal company meeting this week, the Tesla will be an "affordable high-end phone", with a PureView camera. It's likely to come as the successor to the Lumia 720.

The handset will have similar looks to the Lumia 930, but it will be thinner and "less bulky". Elop showed off the Superman too at the aforementioned meeting, alongside video teasers of both smartphones.

The launches for both could be imminent, since they've been part of that presentation at Microsoft.
