Nokia officially starts rolling out Lumia Cyan update
Earlier this week we reported the Lumia Cyan update being rolled out to Nokia Lumia 625 devices in certain markets. Now, Nokia has decded to make things official and has announced that Lumia Cyan - aka Windows Phone 8.1 - is now being streamed to all Lumia devices running Windows Phone 8.
The WP8.1 adds a plethora of new extras and optimizations, like the ability to use a custom background image for your live tiles, the new Action Center notification area, new Cortana virtual assistant, and an updated Internet Explorer 11 browser. The Cyan update will improve Nokia's Camera, Creative Studio, and Storyteller apps, and as an added bonus Nokia is updating the local HERE Drive app on the Lumia 520, 525, 620 and 720 to the global HERE Drive+ suite.
Meanwhile, the Nokia Lumia 1520 and Lumia Icon now get the boosted audio quality and camera capabilities (including support for RAW DNG image output), as well as Microsoft's Screen Share feature that lets you cast to smart TV sets and projectors.
Lumia Cyan starts its global rollout today, and will automatically hit all Windows Phone 8 Lumia devices in the coming weeks. For more information, check the dedicated global rollout page for when the update is set to hit your region.
