Nokia Lumia 625 with 4.7" WVGA screen in the works?
Nokia seems to have a couple of "hero devices" in the pipeline the Lumia 928 and Lumia 925. Now the rumor mill has uncovered yet another Lumia and it's a mid-ranger with the biggest display in the Lumia line. The Nokia Lumia 625 packs a 4.7" WVGA display, according to Chinese sources.
That's bigger than the 4.5" displays of the 92x Lumias and a match for the HTC Titan II. It's powered by a Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon S4 chipset with dual-core processor running Windows Phone 8, so why Nokia would go with WVGA instead of 720p is unclear (it would have had a nice 312ppi instead of the rather disappointing 199ppi we get now).
Sure, 625 puts the rumored Lumia in the low-end, next to the likes of the Lumia 620 but the chipset is identical to that of the Lumia 920. Plus, even the 820 has a WVGA display, so 720p was probably never really an option for the Nokia Lumia 625. If these specs are confirmed, the phone will be quite an odd device.
Speaking of confirmation, the rumor is that if the 625 isn't announced on May 14 it will get a separate event in June or July.
