MWC 2011 is over, find the highlights inside

Well that was it fellas – the MWC 2011 ended. Thank you, Barcelona, for the warm welcome and the exciting week. But before we pack our suitcases and fly home we are going to give you a quick overview of the past few days to make sure you didn’t miss anything important.

A record crowd of 60,000 people from 200 countries attended the congress this year. The event featured more than 1,400 exhibiting companies and occupied more than 58,600 net square meters of exhibition and business meeting space.

And here goes the promised list of MWC 2011 highlights:

The handset that seemed to attract the most attention was the Samsung I9100 Galaxy S II. We did a whole lot of live shots of that one. LG also threw in a few pretty nice devices our way, led by the stereoscopic screen-featuring Optimus 3D. That one got its due portion of live images, a quick benchmark and a hands-on video. We also recorded a quick 3D sample, which you can find over here.

The LG Optimus Black was another pretty cool Android-running smartphone. It packs an exciting new NOVA display that did greatly against the Super AMOLED and the Retina screen in our shootout.

The XPERIA Play was the most interesting device available at the Sony Ericsson booth. You can find its hands-on, complete with plenty of live photos and a video over here.

HTC was also pretty busy this year, announcing five new handsets and a tablet. You can find live images and our first impressions on all of them by following this link.

Then there was Motorola showcasing its Atrix smartphone powerhouse and PRO QWERTY bar. We’ve got both covered with plenty of shots and videos.
