Motorola shares F1-themed Moto X50 Ultra teaser video that is drenched in AI

2024 will be the year of AI, even more so than last year was. Moto just released the first teaser video for the Moto X50 Ultra and despite featuring a Formula 1 car, it’s AI that is the highlight of the video.

The video itself offers brief glimpses of the phone itself, showing a leatherette back and a camera tucked into the top left corner.

The Weibo post that shared the video is vague, but it mentions the F1 China Grand Prix (Motorola owner Lenovo is an official F1 sponsor). The race in China is scheduled for April 21 and given the post, Motorola is probably planning to unveil the Moto X50 Ultra at or around that time.

There was no X40 Pro and certainly no Ultra last year, just a Moto X40 that (with small modifications) arrived on the global market as the Moto Edge 40 Pro. Before that, there was the Moto X30 Pro that (again with a few changes) became the Moto Edge 30 Ultra. In fact, there has been no X-series Ultra before.

Some reports claim that the Motorola Edge 50 Pro will have a 4,500mAh battery with 125W wired and 50W wireless charging. That’s not far off what the Edge 40 Pro offers, which has a 4,600mAh battery with 125W wired and only 15W wireless charging.

But if the rules of Moto’s naming scheme hold, the Edge 50 Pro will be based on the Moto X50, not the X50 Ultra. Of course, that’s just speculation. Either way, the first-ever Moto X Ultra is bound to be something special.
