Motorola Milestone 2 and rugged Defy are just around the corner
The Motorola Milestone 2 is getting ready for launch - it will bring the taste of Froyo but also 720p video capture to Europe soon. The Motorola Defy is Europe-bound too, with a tough water/dust resistance and IP67 spec.
The Motorola Milestone 2 is the euro version of the Droid 2, but it has a bonus feature - 720p HD video recording has been added to its 5MP snapper. It runs Android 2.2 Froyo with MOTOBLUR on top, which of course has Flash 10.1 out of the box. The Milestone 2 has a 1GHz processor and 512MB RAM.
The Milestone sequel has plenty of other juicy specs to offer - 3G with mobile hotspot feature, Wi-Fi 802.11n support, DLNA, 8GB built-in memory and an 8GB microSD card in the box (cards up to 32GB are supported) and (naturally) an improved QWERTY keyboard.
The Motorola Milestone 2 will have an optional car dock and multimedia station if you want to make the best of it.
The other Motorola for today, the boldly named Motorola Defy, is just asking for trouble. Its IP67 specifications give it complete protection against dust and it can be submerged in water deep up to a meter. The Defy will repel scratches and it can take a fall or two too.
For such a tough phone, the specs on the Motorola Defy are quite impressive - 3.7" touchscreen covered with Gorilla Glass and 854x480 pixels resolution, 5MP camera, Android 2.1 (with MOTOBLUR), 800MHz CPU and Swype preinstalled.
Both the Motorola Milestone 2 and the Defy will launch in Europe next quarter - just in time for the holidays.
