Moto G45 arrives with bright colors, aggressive price

After skipping a couple of generations Motorola just brought back the Moto G4x series with a new device, launched first in India. Welcome the Moto G45, a smartphone with a 5G-enabled chipset and three bright color options that costs about $150.

The Moto G45 comes with a Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chipset, the same chip as in the Moto G85, which has a 2.3 GHz clock on its powerful CPU cores. RAM is either 4 GB or 8 GB and storage is only 128 GB, but can be expanded with a microSD card in the hybrid slot.

The Moto G45 is built around a basic 6.5" LCD with HD+ resolution, but at least it offers up to 120 Hz refresh rate. There is a punch hole for the 16 MP camera and a sheet of Gorilla Glass 3 on top for extra protection.

There is a 50 MP main camera on the back with an f/1.8 aperture, sitting alongside a 2 MP macro sensor.

One of the Moto G45's key selling points is its colorful appearance. Motorola partnered with Pantone once again, and the device comes in Brilliant Blue, Brilliant Green, and Viva Magenta, which was the Pantone Color of the Year 2023. All three options feature vegan leather backs, and there is an NFC under the panel.

Motorola equipped the phone with a 5,000 mAh battery and will sell it with a 20W TurboPower charger in the box. The OS is Android 14 with a promise of virtually no bloatware, which is always a good thing. The Moto G45 also has an FM radio and a 3.5 mm audio jack, features still loved by many customers in India.
