More images of the Sony Ericsson Kurara leak, some specs too

Word on the street is that Sony Ericsson Satio is about to get a sister. The new device, nicknamed as Kurara, is considerably more compact than the Satio but it is just as impressive specs-wise. As far as design is concerned though, we are not really sure how to call it, so we'll leave that to you.

What we've got today is some new images of the Sony Ericsson Kurara (which was leaked two weeks ago for the first time). Can you see what's written on the back? It's "HD", that's right. So, the Symbian OS powered smartphone will have an 8 megapixel autofocus snapper capable of recording HD videos.

Sadly, HD here stands for only 720p and not for 1080p. We'll still take any HD resolution they can offer any day. The camera will also pack LED flash, face detection and smile shutter.

The Kurara and Satio will share a common processor (ARM Cortex A8 600 MHz with PowerVR SGX graphics), amount of RAM memory and user interface as well - it's Symbian S60 5th. However, the new device will feature a smaller 3.2" touchscreen display. Let's just remind you, that the Omnia HD, Palm Pre, iPhone 3GS and Nokia N900 share the same Cortex A8 platform.

The Sony Ericsson Kurara (or Sony Ericsson U5 as some sources call it) will have a beefier 1200 mAh battery, Wi-Fi with DLNA, HSDPA and HSUPA support and a built-in GPS receiver. There will also be a microSD card slot.

And now, the big news: the FastPort is gone! It's been replaced by the much more convenient (and common now) microUSB port. It's covered by a protective lid so it's not easy to spot on the photos leaked so far but our sources confirm it. The Kurara will also have a standard 3.5mm audio jack on board.

We were provided with those images and most of the specs information by one of our avid readers (Thank you!). But you should keep in mind that they aren't confirmed by Sony Ericsson so they may all be subject to change.
