Messenger gets end-to-end encryption in group chats and calls

2022-01-28

Messenger has supported end-to-end encryption chats for quite some time now, but the latest update enables it for group chats and calls as well. And to make the whole private communication experience compromise-free, reactions, GIFs and stickers are also available in the E2E conversations.

Like in Vanish mode, the E2E chats offer self-destructing messages, but more interestingly, it notifies the other party when you take a screenshot of a disappearing message. All you have to do to enable the E2E in group chats is flick a switch.

Last but not least, the new update allows you to share and save media more easily with some editing tools on the go.
