Leaked iPhone 16 Pro schematics show the Capture Button
A source close to 91mobiles leaked what appears to be a rough iPhone 16 Pro schematic, showing the usual design with some slight alterations. The report also contains the exact dimensions, pointing at a larger screen. But first things first. Here are the leaked images.
As you can see, the iPhone 16 Pro is depicted with the so-called Capture Button placed right under the power button on the right side of the frame. The button itself mimics the soft shutter buttons found on cameras. A light press will focus the camera, while a complete press will take a picture. Sony phones had this a while back.
Additionally, the leak reports new dimensions - 149.6 x 71.4 x 8.4 mm, which means the 16 Pro will be slightly taller and just a tad wider too. This corroborates an earlier report that the iPhone 16 Pro will launch with a 6.3-inch screen, up from last year's 6.1-inch panel. Also, the schematics show some skinny bezels, so we might see a larger iPhone 16 Pro after all.
The decision to enlarge the smaller Pro this year might stem from the design constraints. There's a rumor doing rounds that the iPhone 16 Pro will adopt last year's iPhone 15 Pro Max's tretraprism telephoto camera, and the hardware might not fit inside the existing iPhone 15 Pro.
Interestingly enough, this leak seems to directly contradict a leaked image in February showing a vertical camera stack.
Either way, we are far from the actual iPhone 16 series release in September, so we take every leak with a healthy dose of skepticism.
