Leaked images show the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra, plus the Galaxy Ring in its carging chase
Here is another look at the Galaxy Watch Ultra and Galaxy Ring, this time without the pixelization filter. These images were posted by Ice Universe on Weibo and show the new flagship smartwatch in two colorways and the charging case for the ring.
The Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra is shown in dark gray and in silver, both with an orange color accent on the digital crown. This is a new development â Galaxy Watches donât have crowns, they use a rotating bezel for navigation (either a physical or a virtual bezel). Note that while weâre calling this a âcrownâ, it might just be another button.
Anyway, you already know about the rectangular design that has been paired with a round watch face. Itâs an unusual setup, but Samsung must have had a reason for designing it this way. It will certainly help keep the UI and watch faces developed for previous models compatible.
Moving on to the Samsung Galaxy Ring, the image shows it in its charging case. It looks similar to the cases for the Galaxy Buds, except there is a pillar on the bottom half to hold the ring and a circle on the top half to help center the ring.
You can see a charging light on both the case and the ring itself. If the case is indeed similar to the ones used by the buds, it should offer both USB-C and wireless charging.
The Galaxy Ring was officially announced at MWC in February (here are our first impressions), but a lot of details were kept under wraps. Samsung did confirm that the ring will have 5 to 9 days battery life, depending on the ring size. From FCC docs, it looks like it will range from 17mAh (ring sizes 5, 6, 7), through 18.5mAh (sizes 8, 9, 10, 11) and 22.5mAh (size 12). For specs on the Watch Ultra, check out this post.
Both the watch and the ring (and more â donât forget the Z foldables) will launch next month.
