Last call for Samsung Galaxy S23 deals in the US before the S24 series arrives

2023-12-17

It’s the last hurrah for the Galaxy S23 series as Samsung is gearing up to launch the 2024 flagships. But the outgoing models are down on price right now, in part because of the Discover Samsung Winter Sale and in part because of Amazon discounts.

The vanilla Samsung Galaxy S23 is $675 on both Samsung.com and Amazon. You should go with the former if you want to trade in an old phone, Samsung is doing its usual “enhanced trade in” so you can send in more than one device (including tablets and watches), phones with cracked screens are also accepted (at a lower but not by much price).

If you’re doing trade-ins, the Samsung Galaxy S23+ can be cheaper than the vanilla S23 with prices starting at $625. An old S22+ is valued at $220 if it’s in good condition and $185 if the display is cracked.

There weren’t any particularly good deals for the Galaxy S23 Ultra on Samsung.com, but Amazon has a decent discount on the 12/256GB model.

If you’re in the market for a new tablet, the Galaxy Tab S9 series is among the best on the Android side, but it’s pricey. You can pick up last year’s Galaxy Tab S8 series instead – even the huge 14.6” Tab S8 Ultra is under $700. You could get the new Tab S9 FE models, of course, but keep in mind those have mid-range chipsets, while the Tab S8 trio has a flagship chip (even if it is just the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1).

If you don’t need that much power, check out the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite. Unfortunately, it lacks DeX support, but it does work with an S Pen (one comes included).

A couple of more Samsung.com offers – you can grab the blazing fast Samsung T9 portable SSD. If your PC can handle it, this drive can transfer at up to 2,000MB/s. Also, it is drop proof, has an extended temperature range and has built-in encryption.

Note that the T9 SSD offer as well as this one on the Odyssey Neo G7 gaming monitor are “flash deals” meaning that they are available today only and only in the hours 12-4 PM ET. As for the Neo G7, it is curved 32” monitor with 4K resolution and 165Hz refresh rate (1ms response time).

Final Samsung offer, this one from Amazon – you can pick up the new Galaxy SmartTag2 for $22 or get a pack of four at $18 each. This one uses Bluetooth as well as UWB (which is supported by the Galaxy S23+ and S23 Ultra).

Another Android tablet you might be interested in is the Google Pixel Tablet. It comes bundled with the Charging Speaker Dock, which turns it into a smart display with pretty good speakers (which are built into the dock).

Alternatively, you can get an 11” slate for cheap – the TCL NxtPaper 11. The name comes from TCL’s proprietary display tech that reduces eye strain. It is a 2,000 x 1,200px display driven by a Helio P60T chipset and an 8,000mAh battery (18W charging).

We have seen plenty of deals for the original Google Pixel Watch, but the sequel rarely comes up – it only launched in October. But here it is now with a small discount on the 4G-connected model.

If you want something cheap, the Amazfit Bip 5 is one of the cheapest smartwatches that money can buy, but it offers great battery life (up to 10 days) and handles all the basic functions. It has a large 1.91” display (rectangular), so reading notification text is easy.

Last week we listed the new Bose QuietComfort Ultra headphones. The TWS buds were $280 but have since fallen to $250. The over ear model remains at $380.

We may get a commission from qualifying sales.
