Kuo: 10.8” iPad coming in second half of 2020, all-new 9” iPad mini to arrive next year

According to noted Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo Apple will replace its base 10.2 iPad with a new 10.8-inch slate in the second half of the year. In addition, Cupertino is allegedly preparing an all-new iPad mini with a 9-inch screen scheduled to arrive in 2021.

The mini’s form factor hasn’t been updated since the 2015 version. According to Kuo, Apple will use GIS touch panels for both new tablets and will follow a similar strategy to the recently launched iPhone SE (2020) with affordable pricing and flagship-level chipsets.

In addition to the two new tablets, the latest investor note detailed Apple’s rumored AR glasses are expected to release in 2022. They will supposedly feature a compact and lightweight design with touch-sensitive side panels, voice and head gesture controls. The glasses are expected to be reliant on the iPhone for processing power and will run their own operating system speculated to be called rOS (reality OS).
