iPhone 17 lineup detailed in new rumor, next iPhone SE tags along
Apple hasn't even launched the iPhone 16 family - that's coming in, most likely, September - but we've already heard quite a few rumors regarding the iPhone 17 series, due to be unveiled in September of next year.
Now another rumor from prolific Chinese leakster Ice Universe sheds some light on all members of the family, and adds a bonus detail about the next iPhone SE - this one will apparently have an OLED screen, for the first time in Apple's affordable lineup.
The 'vanilla' iPhone 17 will have an LTPO display for the first time, coming with a 120 Hz maximum but variable refresh rate just like most Android flagships have for the past couple of years or so. This creates the possibility of adding Always-on Display support, Ice Universe says, though Apple might decide to gatekeep that for the Pros. The iPhone 17 gets 8GB of RAM and the A19 chip.
Speaking of the Pros, these will get the A19 Pro chip, 12GB of RAM and three 48 MP cameras - wide, tele, and ultrawide. Finally, the previously rumored iPhone 17 Slim, which may also go by iPhone 17 Ultra, will be a completely redesigned ultra-thin model.
Since there's no mention of a complete redesign for any other member of the family, we assume the Slim / Ultra will be the only one to introduce a new design language, which may or may not then spread to the rest of them in 2026.
