Insider claims that Apple sold 200,000 Vision Pro headsets in 10 days

After pre-orders went live, the number of sold Apple Vision Pro headsets rose quickly – between 160,000 and 180,000 units, according to estimates by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. Now there is another source that confirms the ballpark estimate.

MacRumors spoke to an insider who claims that 200,000 Vision Pros have been sold in the 10 days since pre-orders began. The estimate from Kuo arrived three days after launch, so things have slowed down.

The review embargo for the new spatial computer was set for today, shipping and open sales will start on Friday. Now the question is this – will reviews help convince people that they need Apple’s mixed reality headset? Or maybe the opposite?

With a $3,500 price tag, this one is for companies and well-heeled enthusiasts, so don’t expect sales to overshadow the iPhone or even the Mac. But this is the first new product category that Apple has entered in a while, so there is a lot riding on this (perhaps not as much as the Apple car, which hit a rough patch recently).
