Huawei nova 10 series debuts alongside Huawei Tag

Huawei unveiled two new members of its nova series with the nova 10 and nova 10 Pro smartphones. The pair share similar specs including 120Hz OLED screens, Snapdragon 778G 4G chipsets and 60MP selfie cameras. Alongside them Huawei announced its own NFC tracker dubbed Huawei Tag.

Huawei nova 10 brings a 6.67-inch OLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. There’s a single punch hole cutout here for the 60MP selfie camera. The nova 10 Pro model boasts a larger 6.78-inch OLED panel with the same resolution and refresh rate. The Pro model also adds a second selfie camera upfront - an 8MP portrait lens.

The rear camera setups on both phones is identical with a 50MP primary camera with an f/1.9 aperture and an 8MP ultrawide module with an f/2.2 aperture. The third sensor is a 2MP depth of field module. Both phones bring Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 778G 4G with 128GB or 256GB storage. The software front is covered by HarmonyOS 2.

Huawei nova 10 boasts a 4,000 mAh battery with 66W wired charging support while nova 10 Pro packs a larger 4,500 mAh cell with 100W wired charging.

Huawei nova 10 series color options

Both Huawei nova 10 models come in Black, Silver, Green and Violet colors. Huawei nova 10 starts at CNY 2,699 ($403) for the 128GB trim while the 256GB model goes for CNY 2,999 ($448). Huawei nova 10 Pro starts at CNY 3,699 ($553) for the 128GB trim and goes up to CNY 3,999 ($598) for the 256GB model. Pre-orders in China are already underway while official sales tip-off on July 8.

Huawei Tag

Huawei Tag is the company’s own take at an NFC smart tracker. It can only be paired with a Harmony OS 2.0 device and relies on Huawei’s "Find" network for tracking objects. Huawei is also bringing encrypted location reporting. The tracker also has a speaker that can play sounds up to 92dB when searching for your items.

Huawei Tag weighs just 6 grams and is only 5.6mm thick. It is IP67 water and dust resistant and runs on a single CR2032 button battery rated to last over a year. Huawei Tag comes in a single white color and retails CNY 99 ($15) for a single unit. You can also get a four-pack for CNY 299 ($45). Open sales start on July 30.
