Huawei Mate 7S confirmed for September 2 announcement at IFA

Huawei has two upcoming events in the next couple of weeks - on August 20 and the newly revealed IFA date - September 2. Many rumors suggest the manufacturer will announce a new Honor 7i flavor on August 20 in China, which will feature a sliding camera module.

The IFA event is now scheduled for September 2 and all new teasers hints for a Mate 7S announcement as opposed to the previously rumored Mate 8. Apparently the company will be upgrading its popular Mate7 flagship with new hardware but will be keeping the design. This means the leaked render with curved body for the upcoming Mate device is either fake or belonging to a different device.

The Mate 7S is expected to upgrade the chipset with Huawei's latest Kirin 935 SoC found in the Honor 7 - an octa-core Cortex-A53 CPU, Mali-T628MP4 GPU and 3GB of RAM. It will also pack a 5.7" 1080p display, a 13MP Sony main camera, a fingerprint sensor and Android Lollipop with Emotion UI.

The Huawei Mate 7S may also introduce a Force Touch display as per recent suggestions from company's CEO and a teaser image, which may explain the slightly smaller screen size. But this is all just a speculation for now.

Anyway, Huawei will be keeping us busy in the coming weeks and we'll keep you in the loop as the news unfold.
