Huawei Mate 30 Lite could be the first phone with HarmonyOS

Huawei announced HarmonyOS earlier today, its own multi-platform operating system. According to one leakster on Twitter, the company is preparing the Mate 30 Lite to be the first smartphone that runs it. The regular Mate 30 and the Mate 30 Pro will still stick with Android Q with EMUI 10 on top.

Early rumors suggested the Huawei Mate 30 Lite will arrive in July with four cameras in a square setup, but the Shenzhen-based company eventually introduced the device as Huawei nova 5i Pro, leaving the door open to bring the same device with different OS under the Mate 30 name. The launch, according to Teme, will take place in fall (mid-September, to be exact) when Huawei usually introduced its Mate lineup.

If the Mate 30 Lite is indeed based on the nova 5i Pro, we are looking at a phone with a 6.26” LCD, Kirin 810 chipset and punch hole for the selfie camera. The main shooter on the back is 48 MP and is accompanied by an 8 MP ultra-wide shooter, dedicated macro camera and a depth sensor. The battery is 4,000 mAh and in а true Huawei fashion comes with 20W fast charging.
