Huawei demoes gesture-operated file transfer between devices
Huawei will introduce the Mate 70 series tomorrow, and we will also see the Mate X6 foldable. The phones are expected to come with HarmonyOS Next, which is an operating system built on an entirely new kernel.
The improved user interface will bring new features and gesture controls, and according to a new teaser, it will let you throw a file between devices without actually touching them. Check out the video, starring the Huawei CEO of the Consumer Business Division, Richard Yu:
The video features the Huawei Mate X6, and we can see the huge camera island on the back. It also shows a tablet, likely the recently introduced MatePad Pro 12.2 (or an upcoming one with HarmonyOS Next); the clip ends with a Mate 70 with three punch holes at the front.
The palm-to-fist gesture will activate the "moving" process, a motion will then "send" the file, and then another move with a closed fist over another display drops whatever is being sent.
Such a feature definitely looks cool, but we have to wait for the devices to launch and see if it actually works in real life.
