HTC top-dog leaks again
New information has just leaked, suggesting the successor of the HTC Desire will be aptly called Desire 2. An inventory list from Vodafone with the name Desire2 nicely coincided with the series of photo leaks we've been seeing lately.
As we reported a while back, HTC is gearing for a big (in numbers) announcement at the MWC 2011. We got to see the upcoming phones in nice press-quality shots, but we had no names.
This weekend we spotted a live shot of an unannounced HTC handset, codenamed the HTC Saga.
And finally, today we got a new live shot - this time of the front, and mind you, we immediately recognized one of the smartphone that leaked first. You can see the similarities in the photo line-up below.
It looks like the Desire has swapped the hardware keys for capacitive ones. And its rumored to have a Super Amoled screen, which however is doubtful, since Samsung can't provide those for its own flagship the Galaxy S. On its back, the rumored HTC Desire 2 has what appears to be an 8 megapixel snapper with a single LED flash and will have Android 2.3.1 Gingerbread. But all of this is still unconfirmed so don't hold your breath just yet.
And finally, here comes this reported shot of the Vodafone Germany inventory system, claiming the carrier will be launching a phone called Desire 2. While we don't have any hard evidence, we're pretty convinced it's one and the same phone that we're talking about here.
The HTC Desire 2 will probably be a major highlight on the HTC booth at the MWC this year. We guess we'll know in a week.
