Honor Pad V8 Pro debuts with Dimensity 8100 and 144Hz screen
Along with the Honor 80 GT announcement, the company introduced its Pad V8 Pro tablet with а beefy hardware under the hood. This is Honor"s top-of-the-line tablet, so it packs a decent punch.
The Honor Pad V8 Pro is built around a large 12.1-inch IPS LCD panel with 2560 x 1600px resolution, 10-bit color depth, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage and 144Hz refresh rate. According to Honor, this is the first tablet to feature a 144Hz refresh rate. Another interesting bit is the IMAX Enhanced certification that would allow users to stream content that complies with the same standard. This was previously prevalent in TVs, but it appears the feature has made its way to the tablet world too.
For a complete multimedia experience, the device also boasts a set of eight powerful speakers with support for DTS:X surround sound.
The fast display would come in handy in gaming as well since the device is powered by a potent Dimensity 8100 SoC, 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. 8GB/256GB and 12GB/256GB options are also available.
As it"s usually the case with tablets, the camera setup isn"t particularly impressive, so we have a standard 13MP. f/2.0 camera on the back and a 5MP, f/2.2 front-facing camera with fixed-focus.
All that hardware is powered by a generous 10,050 mAh battery with support for 35W fast wired charging. The V8 Pro comes with Android 12 and Magic UI 7.0 out of the box.
Honor V8 Pro with magnetic keyboard and stylus
The Honor Pad V8 Pro goes well with Honor"s magnetic keyboard and an active stylus pen too.
All three Honor V8 Pro color variants
The available colors are Grey, Blue and Orange, with the latter featuring faux leather texture. The Grey and Blue options are aluminum clad. The V8 Pro starts at CNY 2,599 ($375) for the 8GB/128GB option, while the 8GB/256GB and the 12GB/256GB iterations ask CNY 2,899 ($420) and CNY 3,299 ($475), respectively. Pre-orders are already open, with actual sales beginning on December 30. Whether the tablet would make it outside of China is yet unknown.
