Honor 70 brings Snapdragon 778G+ and 66W charging
Honor 70 (5G) is the entry-level device in the freshly announced Honor 70 series, but it still brings enticing specs. The phone boasts a 6.67-inch OLED with FHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and a 1,920Hz PWM dimming frequency.
The back houses a 54MP Sony IMX 800 main cam (1/1.49â sensor with 1.0µm pixels) just like on the Honor 70 Pro and Pro+ variants. Thereâs also a 50MP ultrawide module that doubles as a macro cam and a 2MP depth sensor though you miss out on the telephoto module which is exclusive to the upper-tier phones. The selfie cam on the front is 32MP instead of the 50MP found on the Pros.
Honor went with Qualcommâs Snapdragon 778G+ chipset paired with 8/12GB RAM and 256GB base storage though you can move up to 512GB trim if you need the extra space. The software front is handled by the brand-new Android 12-based Magic UI 6.1 which was announced alongside the Honor 70 series. Thereâs a 4800mAh battery that charges at up to 66W speeds.
Honor 70 comes in black, green, blue and gradient colors. It starts at CNY 2,699 ($405) for the 8/256GB trim and goes up to CNY 3,399 ($510) for the 12/512GB version. Open sales in China start on June 7.
