Honor 50 and 50 Lite arrive in Europe with Google services in tow
Honor is back in Europe with two models â both with Google Mobile Services, just like in the good old days. The two phones are the Honor 50 and Honor 50 Lite, but we have to clear some things up. First, the Pro model hasnât made the trip yet (hereâs a quick look at the differences between the two).
Second, the Honor 50 Lite is not the Honor 50 SE. The Lite model appears to be based on the Huawei nova 8i, though this model will be available later on, so expect more details soon.
The Honor 50 is already showing up on HiHonor.com, the companyâs official online store. In the UK branch there is a countdown that has only a few hours left on it before the pre-orders start, deliveries will begin on November 12. If you pre-order by November 11, you will get an Honor MagicWatch 2 46 mm Sports for free (normally, this smartwatch goes for £120).
Other regional branches of the online store are also looking to start up pre-orders soon. On continental Europe, the Honor 50 will start at â¬530 for a unit with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB storage, with an 8/256 GB option available for â¬600. You can pick between four colors: Midnight Black, Emerald Green, Frost Crystal and the supposedly limited edition Honor Code. Note that the watch deal seems to be available only in the UK.
As for the Honor 50 Lite, weâre not seeing it in the Euro stores just yet. This model will come with a â¬300 price tag for a 6/128 GB phone.
As a quick recap, the Honor 50 is powered by the Snapdragon 778G, has a 6.57â 120 Hz OLED display, a 108 MP and 8 MP cameras on the back, 32 MP on the front and a 4,300 mAh battery with 66W fast charging (70% in 20 minutes). The phone runs Magic UI 4.2 based on Android 11 out of the box with full access to the Google Play Store (and other Google services). This was also the case when the phone launched in Malaysia.
The Honor 50 Lite meanwhile has a slightly larger 6.67â display, 64 MP main camera and the same 66W fast charging.
