Hollywood actor Chris Evans says goodbye to his beloved iPhone 6S and its home button
Every technology user is different, and even in an era where large displays and swipey gestures are the norm, there are still users who believe âif it ainât broke, donât fix itâ. Movie star Chris Evans was not ready to part ways with his iPhone 6S in an Instagram post he published with his beloved 2015 iPhone.
âIâll miss your home buttonâ, writes Evans in his Instagram postâs heart-felt ode to his six-year-old iPhone. âI wonât miss the nightly battle of trying to get your charge. Or your grainy pictures. Or your sudden drops from 100% battery, to 15%, to completely dead all within minutes. It was a wild ride. Rest easy, pal.â
The new device pictured in the image is presumably of an iPhone 13 mini. It looks to be about the same size as the iPhone 6S, which has a slightly larger footprint than the 13 mini.
It sounds like Evans had issues with a degraded battery and perhaps a non-cooperative lightning port. Despite its age, the iPhone 6S was still officially supported on OS 15, but its end-of-life would have arrived with the public release of iOS 16 expected sometime in the fall.
