Here are some camera samples from the Galaxy S24 Ultra
The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is here and we had the chance to spend some quality time with it. We used that to, among other things, take a few camera samples with the new AI-powered 'Quad Tele' camera system, as Samsung calls it.
A word before we get to the photos - these shots are more of an impromptu look rather than a dedicated test. And we'll reserve our critical judgment for the review, when we'll have shots produced in controlled environment.
Samsung moved from the 3x + 10x setup on the Galaxy S22 Ultra and S23 Ultra to a 3x + 5x setup on the Galaxy S24 Ultra. The new 5x camera has a much bigger 1/2.6-inch sensor that Samsung says will be able to capture just as good 10x photos as the dedicated zoom unit it replaces.
The 50MP 5x telephoto has a 2x wider OIS angle and 1.6x larger pixels than the 10MP 10X telephoto, and it's backed by the considerable AI-prowess of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. It brings the ProVision Engine, which ensures better noise performance, as well as superior image characteristics.
Here is a demonstration of the Galaxy S24 Ultra's range - from 0.6x at the ultrawide end all the way to 100x.
Here is another scene captured at 1x, 3x, and 5x and 10x from the new zoom camera.
