Here are some alleged sample shots from the Huawei P60 Pro and its new 64MP telephoto camera
A set of interesting sample photos recently surfaced on WeChat Moments alongside a cryptic caption reading something along the lines of â âNew Phone Takes Great Photos.â. These come courtesy of He Gang - Huawei Terminal BG and COO at Huawei Smart Devices. The photos were apparently taken during MWC 2023, and sources speculate that these come from the unannounced Huawei P60 Pro. More specifically, its interesting new telephoto camera.
In a related development, industry insider Digital Chat Station recently shared details regarding the new telephoto camera on the upcoming Huawei P60 Pro. Apparently, it is a 64MP snapper from OmniVision (OV64B) that has a 3.5x optical zoom factor and, most intriguingly, uses an RYYB pixel arrangement. Apparently, by swapping two green pixels for yellow ones, the sensor has better light intake and improved night shooting capabilities by up to 40%.
According to Digital Chat Station, the new camera is backed up by some serious camera algorithms, including some clever aperture adjustments, presumably for portrait photography.
As far as we currently know, the Huawei P60 Pro will be rocking a 50MP, Sony IMX888 main camera and a 50MP, Sony IMX858 ultrawide alongside the new 64MP telephoto. Other rumored specs include a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, limited to LTE connectivity. Also â a 6.6â OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, 1440p resolution, IP68 ingress protection and a 5,000 mAh battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging.
The Huawei P60 series is said to arrive in March.
