Google's Gemini will have access to Samsung's apps on the Galaxy S25

Google and Samsung seem to be working very closely together on the AI experiences that will be available on the upcoming Galaxy S25 devices. Earlier today promo materials for the Galaxy S25 leaked, and among many Samsung features, Gemini was featured very prominently.

Now a new leak reveals the fact that Gemini will get extensions for Samsung Calendar, Samsung Notes, and Samsung Reminder. Extensions allow Gemini to plug into these Samsung apps and do things like create, edit, or delete calendar events, capture info from images to create events, list events for a date range and create repeating events, create and summarize notes, retrieve notes based on descriptions and titles, as well as create, edit, search for, and delete reminders.

While this won't let Gemini do everything you can in these apps, it does make it a lot more useful. And it's interesting to see Google going this route, since it already has competitors for Samsung Calendar and Samsung Notes, which it could have pointed people who asked about such integration to. But instead, it chose to work with Samsung in order to give Gemini more prominence on the Korean company's devices.

Note that the source of this leak revealed that these aren't the only such Gemini extensions coming for Samsung's apps, there will be more. It's also likely that this will roll out to older flagship Samsung devices with the One UI 7 update.
