Garmin Vivomove Trend launched with analog aesthetic and modern smarts

Garmin launched its Vivomove Trend watch which combines the style of a traditional analog watch with the health tracking and notification and NFC features of smartwatches. Garmin Vivomove Trend brings a fiber-reinforced 40 mm polymer casing with a stainless steel bezel. You’ll find traditional analog dials that tell the time but there’s also a monochrome LCD display of 254 x 346-pixel resolution hidden behind.

Vivomove Trend can manage notifications from your paired iPhone or Android phone including the option to respond to texts on the latter. You get all the usual health-tracking features found on modern smartwatches including heart rate, SpO2, sleep and stress tracking. The watch can also track your workouts and even has Garmin Pay for contactless payments and transit cards.

Battery life in smartwatch mode is rated up to 5 days while the standard watch mode is 6 days. The watch uses a proprietary clip charger that snaps onto your regular Qi-wireless charging pads. The watch is also 5 ATM rated meaning you can take it for a swim at the pool.
