Galaxy Z Fold6 to be the thinnest Samsung foldable ever

Compared to the Chinese competitors, Samsung's foldables are much thicker, and this obviously negatively impacts the user experience. The Honor Magic V2 is 10.1 mm thick when closed, while the Galaxy Z Fold5 is comparatively a humongous 13.4 mm.

Samsung seems to have finally received the thinness memo, however. According to a new rumor, the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold6 will be Samsung's thinnest foldable ever, and by quite a margin. It's expected to clock in at exactly 11 mm when closed, which is not record-breaking in general, but definitely far better than before for the Korean company.

Note that the image above doesn't show the actual Fold6, it's just an approximation by shrinking the Fold5 proportionally to 11 mm. This is only an unconfirmed rumor at this point, so don't take it as gospel.

Still, it's a long overdue move on Samsung's part, this, so we obviously hope it pans out. The Galaxy Z Fold6 is expected to be unveiled in late July alongside the Galaxy Z Flip6 and the Galaxy Ring, which was teased in January at the Galaxy S24 launch event.
